Delhi-style Chole Bun is a fun twist on the classic chole kulche. Soft butter-toasted buns are filled with spicy, masaledaar chole and topped with onion, coriander, and lemon for a chatpata street-style taste.

Ingredients

  • Boiled chole
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Jeera
  • Onion / Pyaaz
  • Tomato / Tamatar
  • Ginger-garlic / Adrak-lehsun
  • Imli pulp
  • Chole masala / regular spices
  • Soft buns
  • Fresh coriander / Hara dhaniya
  • Lemon / Nimb

Method

  1. Boil the chole with salt until they become soft.
  2. Heat butter in a pan and add jeera. Let it crackle.
  3. Add boiled chole, onion, tomato, ginger-garlic, imli pulp, and spices.
  4. Mix everything well and cook until the flavours blend properly.
  5. Take soft buns and toast them lightly with butter.
  6. Fill the buns with hot spicy chole.
  7. Top with chopped onion, fresh coriander, and a squeeze of lemon.
